Ringkasan:
Hebrews is written to Jewish Christians believers.
– The purpose is to have faith in the Gospel.
-To have faith in the heart of the Gospel which is Jesus Christ.
The Jews who is now Christians are familiar with the priesthood and sacrificial system of Judaism.
Moses lead them out of Egypt so that they are free from slavery and are able to worship God.
Therefore when they were out of Egypt , God told Moses to erect The Tabernacle- a portable temple . This is where God meet the Israelites once a year for the atonement of their sins.
There is 2 places inside : the Holy Place and Holy of Holies.
Only the consecrated High Priest can enter Holy of Holies, no one can enter, The High Priest has to be descendant of Aaron. once a year He will bring the blood of sacrificial animals for the forgiveness of the people.
Israel’s sin had continually interrupted God’s fellowship with His chosen people and Covenant people Israel.
Therefore ,He graciously established a system of sacrifice that symbolically represented the inner repentance of sinners and His Divine forgiveness. However the need for sacrifices never ended because the people and priest continued to sin .The need of all mankind was for a perfect priest and a perfect sacrifice that would once and for all actually remove sin. God’s provision for that perfect priest and sacrifice in Christ is the central message of Hebrews. Believers in Christ, as God’s perfect sacrifice for sin, have the perfect High Priest thru whose ministry everything is new and better than under the Covenant of law.
Christ is our perfect High Priest.
1. He is the only mediator between God and sinners. 1 Timothy 2:5
2. He sacrificed himself on the cross. He is the perfect lamb of God, John 1:29.
3. He redeemed His people through His own blood. Hebrews 9:12
4. Christ’s sacrifice once for all. Hebrews 10:10
Therefore Now,
We have confidence to enter the Holy Place by the blood of Jesus.we can pray , we can call Him our Father in Heaven. We can worship Him. We can read His words in the bible. because we have accepted Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord and The Holy Spirit is in us.
How should we live?
We should live by faith. The righteous shall live by faith.
What is Faith?
Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for , the conviction of things not seen.
In the Bible who lives by Faith .Abraham
God made his promised to Abraham. Genesis 12:1-3
1. God will make Abraham a big Nation
2. God will make his name great.
3. His offspring will become a blessing to all people.
How does Hebrews say we should live our lives now as a Christians in this world ?
we are to live as if we are running in a race . We need to lay aside weight and sin .Hebrews 12:1-2
Hebrews remind us to 1. Fix our eyes in Jesus Christ. 2. Live by faith.
we are so easily distracted , easily conform to the world . Do we dare to be different.

Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.
Our body is important , we have to take care of our body too . we need to eat healthy, exercise ,do not abuse your body . It will be resurrected when Jesus Christ comes again the second time therefore our body is important , our spiritual lives is also important . We need to know the Words. When Satan tempted Adam and Eve , satan twisted the Word of God. Jesus when tempted He also used the Word written in the OT to chase away Satan.
Romans 12;1-2
I appeal to you therefore brothers, by the mercies of God,to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God,which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind ,that by testing you may discern what is the will of God. What is good and acceptable and perfect.
Questions to discuss :
1. Do you influence your friends or do your friends influence you?
2. What are your challenges in your everyday life?
3. As a Christian how do you overcome them?

Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith , who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.
