Ringkasan:
When Israelites was slaved by Egyptians, they are helpless to fight against Egyptians to free themselves. But with His love saved them. After saving them, God gave them His laws so that Israelites can be sacred (special) compare to other nations as they are God’s treasured possession.
God didn’t give His laws in Egypt because these laws are not meant to be preconditions for Israelites to fulfill before God save them. God give His laws for Israelites own good.
Israelites should obey God’s law because they are for their own good and because they love God who has saved them from slavery and made them His people.
We are like Israelites, we are not slaved by others but we are slaved by sin. We are helpless to free ourselves from the sin. But God loves us, He sent His only Son to die for us so that whoever believe in Jesus will be free from the slavery of sin.
God wants us to be His treasured possession as well which is His children.
We should obey God’s laws because they are meant for our own good and because we love God who has saved and make us His children.

Moses came and told the people all the words of the LORD and all the rules. And all the people answered with one voice and said, “All the words that the LORD has spoken we will do.”
