God’s creation was good but when sin enter the world all the creations lost it’s original function and purposes, it includes man. This sin has impacted the mind, heart and will of man. If a machine is spoiled, we can asked mechanic to repair, if a shirt is dirty, we can washed it. But who can fix man’s mind, heart and will?
Our mind, heart and will has been corrupted by sin.
Peter is the oldest among the disciples and he has chance to see Jesus’ transfiguration.
During the last supper, Jesus told the disciple that they will leave Him tonight but Peter confidently said though the rest will, he won’t. But when the high priest questioned Jesus, Peter denied Jesus 3 times before the rooster crowed. Peter regretted that and wept bitterly.
When Jesus showed Himself to the disciples, He asked Peter 3 times whether he loves Him. Peter answered Him that he loves Jesus. Jesus asked him to feed and tend His sheep.
From the lesson, children learn that:
1. We can not obey and follow Jesus with our own abilities as our mind, heart and will has been corrupted by sin
2. Peter sinned against God and repent
3. Jesus forgive Peter and accepted him back. He even entrusted Peter with His sheep
4. Peter loves Jesus and willingly serve Him till he died
