Ringkasan:

During introduction, I would ask the children if they are thankful of the food they can eat daily even though some of the food could be same. Or if they would complain/grumble because of it is the same food again and they find it boring.
If they are not thankful and keep complaining then they are like the Israelites who are not thankful to God.
I would then brought the children to review last week lesson whether they still remember on how God set the Israelites free from Egypt. God was with the Israelites on their journey to the promised land.
It was a very long journey in the dessert. God used Moses to lead the Israelites to the promised land. The people of Israelites have to obey.
After weeks of travelling, they ran out of food and were hungry. They started to complain/grumble to Moses that they have nothing to eat and why they were brought to the dessert and starve to death. They said that they would rather stay in Egypt. At least they had all the food they wanted.
Moses listened to the complaint and knew that they were complaining because they had stopped trusting God to take care of them. God also heard of the complaint and told Moses that the Israelites would eat meat in the evening and in the morning filled with bread so they will know that I am the lord your God who set them free from Egypt.
In the evening, God sent a flock of Quail to the Israelites. The birds flew right down to the Israelites camp. The people caught the birds and cooked them for their meal time at night.
The Israelites enjoyed the food which God sent. Everyone had plenty of food to eat. God kept his Promise to provide for His people.
Next morning, when the Israelites woke up, they found white flakes everywhere on the ground. They said Manna which meant “what is it?”.
Moses told them it is the bread the Lord has given you to eat. It is something like a wafer with honey. Moses told them to take enough for one day and God will send more the next day.
However, some of the Israelites were disobedient. They took more than they need. The next day, manna which they kept aside had turned rotten with worms on it. They did not trust and obey God. There were also some who did not take enough in the morning. By noon, the sun shone brightly, the manna would melt and they did not have enough manna and were hungry. Again, they were disobedient to God.
Each day God gave his people all the food they need. One day before sabbath, they told mosses to tell the people to take enough manna for two days. Sabbath is a day for his people to rest and to worship God. That is why God gave his people enough manna for two days.
However, some of them still disobeyed God's instruction and went out to gather manna. They realised there was not a single flake of manna to be found. God kept His Word and He wanted his people to listen and obey.
God knew what was the best for the Israelites. He knew they need food. He also knew they need to rest and worship God. He wanted his people to trust Him to provide their needs.
Similarly, God also knows our needs. We need food to have energy. He also knew we need to worship God and rest on Sabbath day. We should be reminded and thankful that God not only provides for our needs, he has given the biggest gift to us through His son Jesus who died and rose again to clean our sin.
Sometimes, it is difficult to trust and obey God because we are a sinner but we ask God to to help us so we can continue to have our trust and be obedient in God.
