For the past 1.5 months, children have learned from the Old Testament stories about an overarching theme of “Trusting God Who Cares for Me”. Today children learned about trusting Lord Jesus Christ.
Children have learned that God provides all our needs, but our greatest need is indeed the forgiveness of our sin. Who can forgive our sin? Only God, our Lord Jesus Christ. But how do we know that Jesus is God? The miracles he performed are the signs that he is God.
Today children learned the story of miracles that Jesus performed when he was on earth: Jesus fed the 5000, Jesus walked on the water and Jesus healed the sick.
Just like Peter who cried out “Lord, save me”, we know that we are all helpless sinners, and we need God to save us and we should trust Jesus Christ alone for our salvation.
There are few points which children have learned from this today’s lesson:
1. We believe in Jesus because he is God, the promised Savior. The miracles he performed are the signs that he is God.
2. We should confess that we are helpless sinners and we need God to save us.
3. In our helplessness, we should trust in Jesus Christ alone for our salvation.
4. When we put our trust in Jesus, we should look at Jesus that only he can save us.
